Tranquillity exists at our heritage property. If you have ever wondered what eco-village life feels like in practice—real people, real food, real quiet—this is an easy way to experience it for yourself.

Now Available For Rental

Kookaburra Park Eco Village is now offering heritage eco-village accommodation in Queensland. This is a comfortable, practical stay designed for people who want to relax in nature, enjoy fresh organic food, and optionally take part in village life.

Ecovillage Accommodation

Experience the charm of our 3 bedroom, air-conditioned 1880s’ house, updated with modern and eco-friendly comforts. It is a heritage home with a warm, lived-in feel—set up so you can settle in quickly and actually rest.

Location And Surroundings

The property is situated 3 km from the friendly town of Gin Gin, and about 48 km to Bundaberg and the coast, giving you plenty of holiday options—beaches, markets, local food, and day trips—while still returning to the peace of a bushland setting.

You can share the environment with native wildlife and friendly locals, and enjoy the calm that comes from being surrounded by open space and natural bush. It is the kind of place where you notice the birds, the light, and the weather again.

Life At The House

Many guests tell us the best moments are the simplest ones: sitting on the veranda, watching the garden mature, and feeling the pace of life change. In season you may see produce ripening, including grapes, citrus, paw paw, bananas, asparagus, and more.

Comforts And Facilities

  • Fully equipped kitchen for self-catering or simple family meals.
  • Comfortable living room for reading, relaxing, and quiet evenings.
  • Bedrooms designed for rest, including a bedroom with French doors to a sunny, private veranda.
  • Air-conditioning for comfort in warmer weather.

Optional Village Activities

You can keep your stay private and quiet, or you can step into village life as much as you choose. Activities vary depending on the season and who is on site, but can include:

  • Organic veggie growing and garden time
  • Shared meals and seasonal festivals
  • Music making and informal gatherings
  • Fitness groups and gentle movement activities
  • Craft, sharing groups, and practical skills
  • Men’s nights
  • Kids activities
  • Plenty of opportunities to share life experience (or simply listen)

The key idea is simple: you get the benefits of community around you, while still having your own private accommodation haven to return to.

Rates

$45 per person per night (shared accommodation).

Kids in parents’ room: $10.

Meals, Tours, And Activities

Freshly cooked meals or salads can be provided from the organic kitchen. You can choose:

  • Fully catered (meals prepared for you), or
  • Self-cater (use the kitchen and enjoy local produce).

Tours and activities are available by arrangement, depending on what you are interested in and what is happening in the village at the time.
