Our gut is a true brain with intelligence.
All those trillions of cells are communicating with each other like some super computer. Unfortunately we have no idea of the code but we know for sure that it is regulating where and how much fat we store and to do that is has to regulate our appetite.
You can read about the importance of our gut brain from recognised experts like Professor Tim Spector of Imperial College and Professor Martin Blaser in the excellent SBS film The Invisible Extinction.
My contribution is to show how you can enhance your gut biota by breeding beneficial microbes in organic waste to grow plants which will enhance your gut biota.
We don’t get fat simply because we eat too much. We get fat because our gut brain decides we need to store more fat, then makes us hungry so we eat too much and then we get fat.
A pretty important difference.
The wrong fat in the wrong place is the common feature of modern diseases.
But for our gut brain to work and do its job of keeping us healthy it has to have the right species of biota and be fed proper gut food.
The biota actually starts in the soil, it moves into the plants by osmosis, then we eat the plants as natural pre and pro biotics.
This is a process that has been going on, successfully for millions of years, until we stopped eating food grown in soil teaming with microbes and nutrients.
This is why we are now in the middle of a health epidemic which is man made.
So learn how you can grow you own gut brain food, I am not into marketing hype so I am not going to claim it is trivial but anyone with a bit of effort can do it. It increases the chance of a long and healthy life, costs less than food and pills inflated by hype, and recycles waste that would otherwise be making green house gases.
