I want to meet you

Greta ThunbergIf you live in cloud cuckoo land you may believe that there will be a continuous supply of healthy food way into the future. Dream on.

But if you live in the real world you will see we are on a high speed train heading straight for a cliff and that cliff is a major food crisis where the supermarkets are full of food loaded with sugars, fats and carbs which will make us fat and sick.

But no real food.

labmeatIf you are like most people you will think that the magic ‘they’ will fix it. They being the Governments, some mega corporation or some techno brain breeding meat in a test tube.

But out there – somewhere – is one person – a combination of paradigm buster and entrepreneur with a bit of spirit who sees that we can have a real food system that will make us healthier and cost less by learning from evolution – and that is the Gbiota system. That person will be prepared to take action to make that happen.

Unlike most people they have a longer attention span than a few seconds and will start by reading about the Anthropocene here.

I would really like to make contact with that person – please email me at colin@gbiota.com

This is a Gbiota Biobox.

gbiota boxThe soil is full of beneficial microbes living and breeding in the organic matter in the soil.

These microbes enter the plant which we eat to form our Gut biota, our gut brain, which acts as the intelligent control system for our bodies. It decides if we have have eaten enough of the right sort of food and tell us when to stop eating.

Our modern inert food is why we are so much fatter than our ancestors.

The soil is filled with rock dust which we cannot absorb, but the microbes break it down into complex chemicals we can absorb. These go to replace our body parts as they age and wear.

Our gut brain also controls much of our immune system protecting us 24/7 from infections. Our gut brain is one of the most important yet neglected organs in our bodies.

All you have to do is to turn the swivel pipe drain to drain the box so the compost tea in the box does not go putrid, reapply to the plants and refill the box through the inlet tube.

When finished just swap for a new box. So easy

You need to eat the leaves before the beneficial microbes die, just pick and eat, make into a smoothie, add to a sandwich or roll or just top your normal meal.

Far better and much cheaper than any pill.

We live in an age where peoples concentration is measured in seconds – for that surviving section of the world who are prepared to sit and read a serious article about how to survive the Anthroprocene read here

We are told that modern food is healthy – and it is true it is full of sugars, fats and carbs which give us energy. But it is dead, sterile, lifeless and we need those beneficial microbes and they are just not there.

This is a bad thing.

Bad things happen when good men stand by and do nothing – Abraham Lincoln

Not having enough real food to eat at an affordable price is a bad thing.

fat person in shopModern food makes us overfull but under nourished. Healthy food is grown in soil full of beneficial biota and minerals.

How do we change things for the better?

walletIt is simply the power of the wallet. One person going into a supermarket has no buying power.

Form a group then you have real buying power and can buy directly from growers who are committed to growing healthy plants in healthy soil.

It is healthier and cost less.

We have the technology of growing healthy soil – that is what this web site is all about but to benefit from this technology people need to join or form their own local food buying group.

gbiota clubFirst step simply register that you want to buy real food grown in living soil in our community area – it costs nothing and you can make contact with other people who want to eat healthy food grown in real soil – we call them biofoodies and growers committed to regenerating their soils.

You get healthy food and have priority to food when things go bad – growers have a stable customer base so can invest in their soils – everyone wins. Just take the trouble to join and participate in a community food group

The Gbiota teams is here to help you set up and run these groups – we do it because bad things happen when good men (and women) stand buy and do nothing.

kidsIf you, and your grand kids and their grand kids want to eat healthy food then join the Gbiota social movement. One person can do nothing – a community of like minded people can make thing happen.

Good and Bad bugs

Say the words micro-biome, micro-biota, bugs or germs and most people think of bad things that must be exterminated.

The fact is that there are good bugs, they are on a skin, hair, nose, mouth, our gut and even our brain. We are totally dependant on them and simply could not exist without them.

Microbes have a short life and breed like crazy. If we get the conditions right the good bugs will simply out breed the bad bugs.

The basic principle underlying the Gbiota technology is to have a food system where we create the right conditions where the good bugs out compete and out breed the bad bugs so we can have a long and healthy life.

Here are our choices –

Option 1

forest clearingWe can stay with our current food system where we chop down the last bits of remaining forest for land which we destroy with chemicals so we can grow crops to feed to animals locked in cages and covered in their own shit which end up polluting our rivers.

amputationThe food is full of fats, sugars and carbs so we get fat and sick and may have a leg chopped off from diabetes and will end up decrepit before we die young.

We destroy the soil so our grand kids never get to eat real food and all this so mega corporations can make mega profits.

Chemical industrial agriculture is a major source of green house gases but far worse – it is destroying the soil on which all life depends.

That is the cost of doing nothing and why ordinary people like you and me need to act.

We cannot leave it to the profit motive for us, our grand kids and their grand kids to have healthy food. It is up to us to act. Bad things happen when good men (and women) stand by and do nothing.

Option 2

old man having funOr we can eat fresh fruit and vegetables grown in living nutritious soil maintained healthy by recycling organic waste and manures. We can live a long and active life into old age and our grand kids and their grand kids can eat real food.

But we have to take action starting with just three action points.

First –

we have to read and watch the videos to understand the basics of how food affects our health here.

If we want to develop a deeper we can go to food and videos.

Second –

we must show that we are committed to a healthy and sustainable food system by saying this is me and I am committed to supporting growers that regenerate their soil to give me healthy food by buying from them.

If you are a grower whether just a home, community or commercial grower, then you can invest in regenerative growing.

walletThis is the power of the wallet, or many wallets – far more powerful than any mega-corporation.

The solution is just so simple – just form a group and buy directly from growers dedicated to regenerating their soils.

You do this by registering here – it costs you nothing but shows your commitment.

Third-

Greta Thunbergyou must tell your friends so they join the movement for growing food in a sustainable way that will keep us healthy.

I am powerless to change the food system, you and me together will still have little impact but if we can create a social movement of real food for the community we can make that change so our grand kids and their grand kids can eat real food.

What next?

Join the Gbiota club –

The Gbiota club is a private social media site. You have to be a member to see what other members are doing, post and share information and chat.

It is a totally free community service, your information is confidential within the club and we expect members to respect social norms.

There are four categorises –

Biofoodie – means you just want to buy Gbiota food from a local grower. By registering you are telling potential local growers that you are a potential customer. It costs money and time to set up Gbiota beds so if people don’t register there will be no growers.

Home grower – means you just want to set up your own Gbiota beds or Bioboxes for personal use only.

Community grower – means you are not running a commercial business but are supplying your local community typically with a financial exchange.

Commercial grower – means you want to set up Gbiota beds and sell plants or Bioboxes to your local community.

Grower subscription

This is a community service – we do not sell anything (products or your data like other social media sites) so we have no revenue. We have significant costs in experimental technology and provide information and support. This includes access to our web services plus direct on line support by email, phone or skype or similar zoom.

This all costs money and membership of the club is free so we have a subscription service just for growers.

If you are not a grower but want to know a bit about how you food is produced the cost is just $5 per year.

For a private grower the cost is $20 per year.

For a community grower – a private grower selling to their community $10 per month

For a commercial grower the cost is $50 per month

When you go to access any articles in the grower section for the first time you will be asked to subscribe.
