Diabetes gut food project

We are experiencing a dramatic increase in diabetes. Fifty years ago just 1% of the population were diabetic but this has increased to 14% and is steadily increasing.

We think the fundamental reason is poor gut health. Our gut is not just another organ it contains trillions of cells which communicate with each other, like in a computer, to provide genuine intelligence. It controls our appetite and where and how much fat we store in our bodies.

Modern food may be full of energy but is just not feeding our gut brain so it send out hormones to make us hungry and then stores this as fat. Initially this will just make us insulin resistant but our pancreas will simply make more insulin so our blood sugar is under control and there is no obvious sign that we are on the diabetic road other than an unexplained increase in weight.

This is concerning as there could be a major wave of people who have not been diagnosed as diabetic but are well on the road to full blown diabetes.

At some point fat clogs the pancreas so there it can no longer produce insulin leading to full blown diabetes.
